CRAIGHILL CHANNEL LIGHT - N (1/160) SCALE MODEL LANDMARK

Craighill Channel Lower Range Light Front (Craighill light) is the second oldest cast iron and caisson (cylindrical watertight foundation) in the United States. Located at the mouth of the Patapsco river into the Baltimore harbour, Maryland, its cylindrical single-story dwelling and keeper's quarter are unique.

The caisson type became the preferred construction system for offshore light stations to be built in regions where occasionally ice floe damage was a possibility.

The light was constructed in 1873 following the design of its predecessor, the Duxbury light (first caisson-type light in the US) however, The Craighill light is considered a great engineering achievement as it was built in deeper water.

The Front Range lighthouse is unique in that it is equipped with two lights: A fixed beacon above the gallery deck functions as the Front Range light, while a fifth-order Fresnel lens in the lantern room serves as a general aid to navigation.
The keeper's quarter consist of a kitchen, a sitting room and two bedrooms, with a privy outside.

The model was designed using pictures and detailed drawing of the actual building in scale 1/160 (N scale).

You can resize it using your favourite software before print, however, if you do so, some of the parts may lose stability or look over scaled.

Model has 24 different pieces that you need to assembly as any other model kit: I attached an instruction booklet together with the ed files. Printing, painting and weathering will give a lot of fun.

This model can be a great addition to your layout or diorama.

• The kit has 24 parts: With the you get both with and without s.
• The ed files are not with the optimal printing orientation but with the optimal orientation according to minimize sanding and provided a perfect fit between parts. However, you can add s according to your methods.
• The kit part T1 LAMP correspond to the lamp and has to be printed in clear resin.
• The kit has been designed to allow space for wiring in case you want to lighten with micro LEDs
