3D model description

Block Island Southeast Lighthouse with its brick Gothic Revival style is one of the most striking lighthouses built in the United States in the 19th century

It is located dramatically atop the Mohegan Bluffs at the southern tip of the Block island. The island is part of the Outer Lands coastal archipelago in New England 9 miles south of mainland Rhode Island.

Designated a US National Historic Landmark in 1997, today the lighthouse is open to public and visitors.

The model was designed using pictures and detailed drawing of the actual building in scale 1/160 (N scale).

You can resize it using your favourite software before print, however, if you do so, some of the parts may lose stability or look over scaled.

Model has 40 different pieces that you need to assembly as any other model kit: I attached an instruction booklet together with the ed files. Printing, painting and weathering will give a lot of fun.

Please note that the kit doesn't include the roof: This is to be done with styrene or cardboard 1mm thick.
I included a template in the instructions booklet together with SVG file in case you have acces to a laser cutter.

This model can be a great addition to your layout or diorama.

Manufacturing settings

  • Designed to be printed using SLA however, with filament printers you shouldn't find any problems.
  • L91 X W141 X H124 (mm)
  • The widest part measure 91.2x3 mm: Check your 3dprinter build volume
  • The kit has 40 parts: With the you get both with and without s.
  • Roof is not provided. I consider easier to get better results using styrene sheet or cardboard to build it: A template (and SVG file for those who have laser cutter) is provided.
  • The ed files are not with the optimal printing orientation but with the optimal orientation according to minimize sanding and provided a perfect fit between parts. However, you can add s according to your methods.
  • The kit part T1 LAMP correspond to the lamp and has to be printed in clear resin.
  • The kit has been designed to allow space for wiring in case you want to lighten with micro LEDs
