How do you recommend making the notebook stay closed so it doesn't spring back up. I printed the US Letter size and I added 20 pieces of paper like in the instructions. Do you have any tips? I'm using a normal rubber band. Also do you have a version of the cover that has no designs so I could add my own designs? Thank you!
Hey :) it should stay closed! My guess why it opens would be that the print has something like a little "elephants foot" or other irregularity at the bottom so the hinge opens back up - since the parts could touch at the hinge when the first layers are not right. A quick fix would be to take a cutter and remove the extra material at the hinge. For further analysis i would need a picture of your print! You can post it here or send me a message on instagram or twitter and i will be happy to trouble shoot that with you :) I currently only have that version but i may will provide further patterns or a clear version in the future!
The thing is all the triangles are fully in the hinges and they don't come up when I open the Notebook. And with no paper the notebook stays closed. All the triangles I put in like you showed. There is no extra material in the hinge holes. I couldn't spot any elephants foot. And the notebook cover would just open about a inch.
Warping could be a good explanation. Maybe you could heat it a little with a hair dryer and bend it the right position to counter the offset caused by the warping. Otherwise I would advice to reprint the faulty cover and pay attention to Plattform adhesion by cleaning the bed, maybe checking the room temperature (below 18 degree Celsius I get warping) and maybe using a brim which has to be removed with a cutter. To further help out I would have to see the print. If you want you can send me a photo on social media :)
Oh no! Maybe I can help you? What setting (machine, material, version of the design) did you use to print it? If you want you can send me a photo of the print in twitter or Instagram I I will be happy to troubleshoot it with you :) you can also write the details here.
Hey I just finished printing my first full book and the covers aren't aligned. I printed the two covers back to back on the same printer and when they lay on top of one another they are identical but when lined up with the spine one sits higher than the other as if the hinges are not centered on the cover. Any idea what could've happened?
Oh wow that sounds weird! The one thing that would come to my mind is that when the print cools down it could deform. What bed Type to you print on? It would help if you could share Photos and i can go into the details with you. Here or on Twitter, Instagram or Mail - where it is easier for you!
Since this happend to someone else: If you use a Ender 3V2, make sure your machine dimensions are set up correctly in cura or the slicer of your choice. X: 220mm, Y:220mm. If those values are wrong the printer will slice it as if there was more space available and the print head will run into the boundaries of the axis making the print shorter. This also applies to any other machine with wrong machine settings.
